DEC. 11: 5:33 p.m., a resident in the 1500 block of Wildflower Lane reported a home burglary totaling $24,700 worth of personal property, including $200 cash, three diamond rings, expensive jewelry and two wrist watches.
The City of Highland Village staff listed continued economic development as a 2008 priority for the City Council, administrators and staff.
Home Instead Senior Care teamed up with Meals on Wheels of Denton County and the City of Highland Village to run Denton County’s inaugural year of "Be a Santa to a Senior."

Applause and a roar of approval followed the name Mayor Jody Smith announced as the winner of the Women of Flower Mound [WOFM] Holiday Playhouse.
The recent International Thespian Society Texas State Convention drew about 2,700 high school theater students from schools across Texas. Held in Fort Worth, the convention featured workshops, performances, various theater category competitions and the chance for students to meet with college representatives from more than 30 accredited theater schools.
The Parks, Arts and Library Services [PALS] Board unanimously approved a request for Triathlon event to be held at the Community Activity Center [CAC] natatorium and Gerault Park at its Dec. 11 meeting.
The 2008 Holiday Stroll at Parker Square in Flower Mound immediately followed the 19th annual Christmas Parade down Morriss Road and a good crowd of parade watchers braved the windy weather to enjoy the holiday event.
Faith Christian School of Grapevine’s "Helping Hands" mission project joined kindergarten through fifth grade students with Community Partners of Dallas to provide abused and neglected children with their one Christmas wish.
The Flower Mound Town Council members unanimously approved plans for Post Oak Park, minus an equestrian trailhead, on Monday.
A young woman from Double Oak is back at home with her family following a day-long kidnapping ordeal on Monday.
The 7th annual Christmas Benefit for Christ’s Haven for Children will be held Saturday, Dec. 20, from 1 to 3 p.m. at Little Pete’s on Lake Grapevine at Twin Coves Marina in Murrell Park in Flower Mound.
The term "road trip" became an international experience for a group of Aborigine basketball players when they flew from their Australian homeland on a trip to America.
The Flower Mound Police Department [FMPD] and alumni members of its Citizens on Patrol program are sponsoring the second annual Santa Cops Program.
