With back-to-back state championships in 2007 and 2008, the Marcus boys soccer team has proved to be the most dominating boys soccer program in the state over the last two years, and the Marauders are looking to complete the hat trick in 2009.
Last year was a tough one for the Flower Mound girls soccer team for more reasons than one.
The Argyle boys basketball team advanced to the regional semifinals last season and is looking to build upon that success in 2009.
Just when it looked like Marcus guard Alex Nunn had started to find a rhythm to his season, it suddenly ended.
Flower Mound has entered the upper echelon of area boys soccer programs in recent years, but will have to try to continue on its success this season without a major piece of the puzzle from past successes.

The Marcus girls soccer team finished second in 6-5A competition last year with a district record of 11-2-1, but a loss in the opening round of the playoffs left many people in the local soccer community scratching their heads.
Area basketball coaches have had about seven weeks to evaluate their teams in every situation. They have seen them in games that were laughers and others where the coaches didn’t have much to laugh about.
The quest for success is always a work in progress for any athletic program. It takes commitment, sacrifice and cohesion.
As Flower Mound high school gets another year older, it has well established itself in athletics.
