Coram Deo Loses Season Opener to State Champion
The Coram Deo Lions boys basketball team lost its first game of the season to Trinity Christian by a score of 77-66 on last week.
The Tigers were TAPPS state champions last season.
Raiders Win Tournament Championship
The Flower Mound Raiders 8U baseball team won the first annual Costume Classic with a perfect 4-0 record in tournament play.
The competition was held on Nov. 1 at Bakers Field in Flower Mound.
Team members include Cade Sefcik, Caleb Cantu, Dylan Daggett, Jace Holbert, Evan Whinery, Chad Ricker, Cole Daggett, Tyler Stumpfig, Danny Scheffler, Mason Cosby, Garrett McDaniel, J.D. Crowder, Kobe Thompson, John Whinery, Lance Holbert, Jim Daggett, Chad Sefcik and Chris Cantu.
Stix Win Tournament Championship
The Texas Stix 9U baseball team won the first annual Costume Classic at Bakers Field in Flower Mound.
Team members include Vincent Mazzola, Grant Georges, Connor Castans, Ryan Hunt, Hayden O’Rear, Blake Covin, Collyn Cooper, Will Lance, Ben Hanley, Steed Outler, Corey McMann and Gage Campbell.
Liberty Christian Ends Season on a High Note
The Liberty Christian football team wrapped up district play last Friday with a 28-14 victory against Arlington Grace Prep.
Prep took a 14-7 lead into the half, with the Warriors score coming on a 1-yard run from Reid Fitzgerald.
Liberty scored 21 unanswered points in the second half, as Bailee Brown connected with Luke Jenkins on a touchdown pass and ran for another touchdown.
Fitzgerald ran for a second touchdown in the fourth quarter and finished with over 300 yards rushing.
Marcus Pounds Frisco on the Ice
The Marcus Gold hockey team defeated Frisco 8-3 last Thursday to improve to 3-3.
Frisco jumped out to a 1-0 lead, but goals from David Wirth and Brendan McGuire made it 2-1 heading into the second period.
Travis Reed scored two goals for the Marauders in the second period and finished the game with four goals.
Patrick Price and Jake Consolver both scored goals in the third period.
Barret Turner picked up three assists in the game, while Connor Shurkey and Brendan McGuire each finished with two assists.
